STUDIES

So this is what I look like when diving!

2014 - Following a foundation degree in Art & Design, I started my Bachelor of Arts in Product Design at Nottingham Trent University, where I  grew into the designer I am today.

2015 - During my summer break I volunteered in Nigeria, where I lived with a family in a small village. I worked with an organisation called VSO teaching young underprivileged children. Here I gained an enormous amount of skills and knowledge about the world and myself and I am confident that this experience has shaped me greatly.

2016 - During my Easter break I travelled to Berlin, Warsaw and Bratislava where I mixed design inspiration with personal pleasure. Sites such as the Bauhaus Archives and the Warsaw National Museum were particular points of interest.

2016 -  In my summer break I took time to travel through Central Europe, travelling through Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Munich, the Swiss Alps, Liechtenstein, Milan, San Marino, Naples and Rome. It was a mixture of design inspiration and personal pleasure.

2016 - In August, I moved to Denmark to take an internship at The LEGO Group for one year. I worked in a small team of innovative designers focused on ideation and prototyping. The majority of work was hand prototyping and the work was very play focused. I learned so much about working in a large organisation and how to have a lot of fun at work!

2017 - I returned to England in July to complete my final year of study at Nottingham Trent University. I completed the first of two self-run design projects that make up my final degree - a backpack designed for young female users.

2018 - I completed my Dissertation, which analyses a range of play methods used in the workplace to determine the impacts that play can have in workplace environments. I also completed the second design project - a playfully considered Poolside Lounge chair. I managed and lead the Degree show for my course and my work was selected to be displayed at New Designers 2018. I graduated with a 2:1 BA (hons) in Product Design and received an International Diploma of Professional Practise for my time at The LEGO Group.

2019 - I completed an internship at HF Contracts in England; a contract furniture and interior design company. I focused on the interior design of a new bar and specifically the design of a custom bar.

2019 - In the early summer I moved to Tenerife to train as a Scuba Diving Instructor. Already a passion of mine, I wanted to expand my skills and take my sport to a professional level. I trained and worked at Blackstone Dive Center as Assistant Instructor to the Head of Staff for six months before returning to the UK to continue my design career.

2019 - In November I returned to HF Contracts where I currently work freelance.
